Very cool! I used to have a collection of those I got from a rare plant outfit in Santa Barbara. Forgot they were blowfly pollinated and that's why the flowers smell like dead meat. Left the greenhouse door open and Aye God the flies in that place. Totally disgusting! Interesting plants though and moderately easy to grow and care for....Mel

I have several of them, and the first bloom of the year opened just last week. The unopened flower bud was the size of a tennis ball! With the heat last weekend (106 degrees on Saturday), the flower lasted only one day. They are pretty cool plants. Jean

I used to have one that had huge flowers on it. Took first place at a Cacti/Succulent plant show because it was so big & had so many flowers on it. That was a loooooong time ago though. Down here is the keys it didn't fair so well. Too much humidity!

Here's a few shots of the Stapelia flower I had open last week. (Hope you don't mind, Beef) Check out the size of that flower bud! Sprawled on huge chunk of obsidian And the obligatory closeup These are very pretty flowers, too bad they stink so much! There's another bud (albeit smaller) ready to open now. Jean
