This is from western PA. I picked it up about 5 lbs at our club's X-mas auction last year. It was sold as specimens but I like to cab those. The pieces with lots of copper are tough to cab, its really grabby on the diamond wheels. Another local, opalite. Its a thin bubbly layer on matrix so its tough to cab. Slag glass from the historic iron furnace near us. Luna agate Malachite. Small Nipomo marcasite. One of my favorite materials to cab. Mexican jelly opal. No flash in this one.

Nice, Tony! I though it was the glass, until I saw the malachite!! And I see some sparky stuff in the jelly, but then I've been known to see things. Anyway, I like it. Tony

Daniel, I'm not sure how I came up with that. When I do freeforms I rarely have a shape in my head, I just start grinding and see what happens.
