Just processing some material i found this summer where I found the orbicular jasper. This is a small sample of quite a varied group of rocks from the one river. I'll post a couple of singles thanks for looking Lloyd Attachments:![](//storage.proboards.com/1258779/thumbnailer/w1uYAEKOwRgrv9idJHxu.jpg)

Thanks for looking guys; inclusive term. yes and this one just keeps surprising me with the variety of material in it. I still haven't finished with it by far. I have 4 colours of chert from it with a range from teally blue to brown and toffee tan to clear with black inclusions. I just broke small enough chuncks off all the rocks I wanted to test. you know what old backs and rocks are like. Yes Susan, when I see what gets picked up off the glacial scree, it makes me tear up :<) Damn those ice ages!

another one from that river; you all can tell me what stone it resembles; I've seen a similar jasp\ag before. This is guiter pick size with a low dome; an end cut. The background is blue and green with rusty red and tan lines and cream highlights here and there Attachments:![](//storage.proboards.com/1258779/thumbnailer/BqrqVX87DthiyNJCquJL.jpg)

here's a peice of deep maroon coloured chert, the rough looks a ruddy red purple but it darkened considerably when it ws cut and polished unfortunately in a way but the rich chocolatey purple is quite nice too. it is 6-7 mohs and I call this cab "The Samba Dancer" because of the inclusion it has of light lacy veining. I'm still working my way through the different varieties of "chert" from this river and this is really an attention getter; if you're goth. Really has some nice black inclusions showing and gets solid after this heel peice. This is just a quick rough it out peice with 100 grit and then a light oil just to see what's there. Thanks Guys They don't compare to some of the prized agates and jaspers but sure do give me cutting practice.
