I am writing with some sad news. Perhaps some of you know that I have been working with some disabled children, teaching them how to make cabs. Several months ago one of those children who's screen name was Romulous entered the Killer Cab contest with a cab that he made.
Well this past week I received some bad news. Romulous unexpectedly passed away. Though he did have health issues his passing was unrelated to his terminal condition and was totally unexpected at this time.
So saddened by this loss I seriously started to reevaluate my ability to continue working with these children. On Thursday I received a MFRB in my PO box. It was from Ken Dede aka Esciguy on Ebay. The box contained a very large canvas sac full of slabs. I have purchased many slabs from Ken on Ebay and he has in the passed generously provided material for the children to work with. It has been many months since I last dealt with Ken and this MFRB of slabs was an unsolicited gift from Ken (Esciguy) for the children to work with. This kindness and generosity arrived at a time when I was at my lowest. It brought me to realize that there was still work that needed to be done.
R.I.P. Romulous, you are now in a better place.

So sorry for your pain. I hope the joy of working with them can dull it a bit.

I remember his entry in the contest. It was really nice. I'm sorry to hear about his passing.

my deepest sympathies, having never talked to Romulus I know nothing of the child, but he seems to have touched upon the life of a few members here. I hope you continue to remember how you helped bring joy into his life through your time teaching him and others the joys of cabbing, as you continue to work with the other children!!

Sad news Stu.
Choosing to walk alongside those with needs takes a special person. Good man to even do that to begin with.

Stu, sometimes when we open ourselves to others, we're a little vulnerable, but the value of connecting with others in meaningful ways far outweighs the risk of feeling pain. Sorry for your loss. Jo

I am so sorry for your loss and pain. You are doing such a wonderful thing and that box o rocks was a sign that you should not lose heart. Think of the good times you give these kids. Hard as it may be for you, you are doing something few do and many need. Bless your heart. You're a good man.
