I took a quick trip to Zapata yesterday to do a little hounding. I found an old road cut hounded down the gullies and up the hill along the road.
They say rains a'coming when the purple sage blooms. I sure hope that's true:
I look across the river into Mexico and wonder what the hills on the other side might offer an old hound.
It was a pretty day and I found a few keepers:
I used to think these small agates were what they call bubble gum agate because they look like they've been chewed and spit out. I'm not sure what constitutes bubble gum agate after all.
I picked up some turtle back, or more correctly tortoise shell scale.
