I went out and did some exploring this weekend and found some cool stuff.
Picked up some apache tears (black obsidian) and a wanna-be fire agate from way out western utah, almost into nevada:
Found some really cool dendritic chert in pinks, yellows and tans:
At another location, there was a hill side covered in rhyolite with lots of little gemy chacledony pieces scattered about. while collecting the chalcedony, I found a hunk of rhyolite that appears to be a thunderegg. what do you think?
Here's the chalcedony that i picked up. Mostly white and clear with fine banding, but some is light blue and light lavender. This stuff will be great carving fodder.
