It's time I faced the fact that I am never going to refurb my Genie and let it go. A localrock club fella heard I had it and wants it even though I warned him updating it would be a major undertaking. I was originally going to sell it for more, at least $300. The offer was $200, now he wants me to go lower. Not knowing much about Genie's, what is this worth? Am I getting lowballed or should I let it go? It seems to run fine, though I have no idea how they are supposed to sound. It was apparently rebuilt some time ago. It's missing the shaft adapters. Steve

If the motor and pump are still good, I'd raise the asking price to $400.00. Sounds like the local rock club guy is trying to lo ball you. Tell him to check the price of a replacement DP motor, hoods and pans. It's gonna be in the range of $1,000.00.

I think that $200-300 would be a fair offer, I would not pay more. It would take $800+ to put new wheels on it and a few hundred more to replace the missing pieces. You can get a fully functional Genie with like new wheels for the $1000-1200 range (at least in Az). There is a guy on Az Craigslist that is trying to sell a 4 wheel genie(with 3 wheels) for $350 and it has not moved. phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/art/3289008258.htmlI hope you can get more, it clearly depends on local market conditions. Good luck, Tim

If you're not in a hurry to sell I would hold at $300 Put it on Craigs for $400 like Don said which leaves wiggle room to accept offers.

Lower than $200 does not sound fair if the motor and bearings are good. I think your $300 idea was reasonable, and you could go a little lower to move it faster - but not that low. Just consider what an empty arbor sells for on ebay. I see Lortone Beaver 4-wheel arbors selling without wheels or motor for around $200.

I would list it as a used Genie motor with two hoods and a pan. Looks like everything else is missing. New the motors list for $450, shaft adapters with spacers about $100 per. If the pump is there it is worth something but can be replaced with aquarium pump pretty cheap. Then there is the set of wheels, list price $860. In my opinion nobody in their right mind would buy it unless they had a Genie with a bad motor. If the motor is in great shape you may get $250-$300 for it. $200 isn't terribly low, maybe offer to split the difference.

You can get a full set of wheels on ebay for $587 delivered. If you have the geysers, trays and it works. I think $400+ is reasonable.
