I've been wanting to do some groove wrapping for a while now...and also have had a problematic cab that I've been trying to fix. Like with fishing, I caught these two with an idea and have been fighting them in ever since. Much thanks to Randy and Hub for coaching me through the temper tantraums on these two! It's been a very L O N G time getting them to this point of being ready to wrap! So here they are... Yet another flame agate... but this one is REEEEEAALLY cool! Again a "pithy area" that went all the way through the stone. I talked to Randy about doing some soldering but seemed like a lot of equipment and fire hazzard to fix one stone. When I saw Hub's inlays, well, that was all I needed...plus some serious encouragement from both! And this is the incredible shrinking first groove! LOL! That's it for now. Wrapping is next... Cathy

Cathy, you inlay is terrific!!! I'm in the midst of setting up for grooving, but have a few projects ahead of that. You cab is going to be so neat!

double grooves are hard to do, did you groove it before doming? They look like they were worth the effort

Thanks all! I'm very happy with them so far.
Dad, for doing the side grooving I used a gryphon. For the inlay I used a hand held dremmel with diamond bits.
It's this was just a little rock I picked up on the beach of Lake Michigan. It came rounded on both sides and I just followed the stone, basically. I'm thinking that hereafter, using a flat stone and doing the side groove before doming is the way to go.
