hello, this is my first visit here. my question is: are there any rock hounds around here, (pella, ia.) that i could ask to do some slabbing for me? the larger of the rocks i have are somewhere around "8x 10". they are some kind of coral, with lots and lots of crystal. i am also an avid agate, fossil and "cool" rock collector. if anyone knows someone close, please let me know. thank you so much!! li dj

8x10 requires a 24" blade or larger. those saw are pretty rare.

If all else fails ... a couple shots with the Sledge-O-Matic will probably do the trick!!

I'm in Aberdeen, S.D., and have a 16" saw. I could cut some smaller pieces, but that big one won't fit my saw. A trucker friend brought me a couple pieces of that Iowa coral. Neat stuff. I also collect fossils and Fairburn agates.
Oh, and welcome aboard.
