Does this look like a good/all right deal? Im new to purchasing Owyhee and this is my first purchase of the stuff. Ive been watching listings on eBay for a few months now and this seller has some of the bigger Owyee rough stock that I have seen on there in a while. Free shipping included. I really like the blue color jasper. I plan on keeping them for display. Putting them in a nice display jar or something. Open to opinions good or bad. www.ebay.com/itm/261113484480?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2648

Looks like great material to me. Price doesn't seem bad either, but maybe you could do better since you're buying 20 lbs at a time???

$4/lb is not bad .. but I wouldn't buy it. There seem to be almost no pictures, and the high dollar Qwyhee with blue is the blue sky variety. The blue with brown dagger like projections for both top and bottom of the slice is also popular for pendants and knife scales. But this looks like there are un-heeled fractures. ... with the free shipping, it is not a rip off or anything, but there is better Owyhee to be had.

Lol, if I had 99 bucks, I would purchase it. Love the Owyhee material. The seller offers a refund for the material. Noticed that the auction ended today and wondered if you bid and won?

Quick note Bhiatt, with something like this, you may want to ask a forum member who hounds it and has a vast collection already about buying poundage from him (I'd recommend Tony (Catmandewe). Tony's probably got a hill of Owyhee in his backyard:P. I know Tony gives forum members better deals. You can ask him for photos of what he's got and cherry pick. Tony has incredible owyhee of every type. Here's a few of the owyhee I've gotten from him, he's got a great eye for quality, and his prices beat Ebay (rare to find this kind of quality on ebay anyway): Owyhee chunk: Biggs chunk: Owyhee slabs: You may want to contact him and ask for pix of what he'd sell for what prices, but I'll bet he can beat the ebay ones with better quality rocks, especially if you are looking for bulk. He's got a lot of picture rocks, and he's really reasonable.

Helen, Im going to email Tony right now. I know hes the Owyhee guy. I dont know why I havent contacted him yet to begin with.
About a month or two ago you gave me his name when I was looking for a chunk of Deschutes. He said he was very busy at the time with work and couldnt get to his storage unit for a while because of work and it just so happened that another member was going to Judy Elkins shop and he picked me up a very nice piece and sent it to me. Very cool. I appreciate you giving me the contact. So many nice people on here helping each other out. Great place here.

Yep, the Biggs is killer. I also like the tree in the second Owyhee slab.

I did do the Buy It Now yesterday. Then today I asked him if he could relist it and cancel my order. He was nice and said no problem. He relisted it and it sold right away. I took Helens advice and hopefully Tony(catmandewe)can help me out.

NP:). I think Tony has a mountain of rocks slowly sinking into his backyard, so I figured he could send you some nice pieces:)! But not just that, Tony's a nice guy (even if we argue about politics:P).
And yes, isn't that a killer Biggs? When he sent it to me... I didn't even know what Biggs was... and I didn't know for another 3 months. I just thought.. wow! What an interesting looking rock! I was sooo new to rocks at the time, I had no clue what was what. Even now, some of the slabs Tony sent me still astonish me... these are just the owyhees, he sent some other incredible slabs too, and the more I learned about rocks, the more astonished I was that he did, knowing I knew absolutely nothing about rocks. If I need owyhee, I'll be bugging Tony, that's for sure:).
