its the pixels. 2048 is wider than almost every screen. you need to take or resize to something like 800x600 pixels.

I have some onyx of similar color. If it is soft, it could be onyx. If it's not onyx it's a PGR. Pretty green rock.

it's quartz so hard, and it is robins egg blue with bright light yellow veining and bright redy/rust veining. So I think the PGR is out. :<))

the rough looks the same only flat :<)) and pretty plain on the part you see on the outside; not much indication it looks like this inside I don't have a picture of the rough, I just grabbed it and cabbed it.

I believe the slab is ice cream opalite. I have this material and I thought I got it from ebay seller pilosopherstone years ago.

I would guess with the veining running the way it does and no wood patterning that it isn't wood but with rocks you never know what is going to fool you. This is another cab i did today of the same type of material; as I said, the colours and patterning are interesting Attachments:

I've seen quartz, or rather quartzite with similar veining. Jo

I'm gonna guess massive quartz, or quartzite, with lots of iron stained fractures.

this peice actually is a weird mix; It feels more like opal to cut and finish, I tried to do my standard finish but the only thing that shined up was the black band which is bright and shiney. I don't see or feel any undercutting so I don't know what it is and why it didn't polish more. maybe too much dirt scratching it up from the seam of iron. It is a nice semi gloss so I think I'll leave it there.
