I have had this for awhile now and would like to know what it is. It is soft as hell and not very stable as you can see. Attachments:

Anything to go on? Weight, associated rocks, location? How soft is soft? Rock... clay? Without anything to go on this would be a guess, but clay - formed from breakdown of rock rather than in a watery depositional environment. In fact I seem to have chanced upon: www.leonacraig.com/catalogue_art_gallery/Teapots/Chinese_Teapots_Intro.htmI don't propose you have found the world's second deposit of Zisha Clay, but something like it. You'd have to do some research to find how useful this is! In my part of the world we have 'boulder clay' from (ancient - now melted) glaciers. It helps keep water in soil but that's about it!
