Very cool. I have a little rough of that rose agate from many moons ago. I think I got it from out near Ludlow on old Hwy 66 but man that takes me back to my earliest rockhound days with my dad. I think I remember the location right but not definite on that one. I had a huge boulder of it at one time but I think I either got rid of it before my move or left it on my stone wall up at our old ranch. Your example is a really fine one as usually it's pretty porous or pitted and has to be done up as a doublet with a quartz crown. Think this is the same stuff but not as well organized as your example....Mel

Mel, That is the Christmas Tree Plume Agate. I actually tried to get back out to that area yesterday. Took a wrong turn and ended up in a blind canyon. There used to be a sign at the turn off but now it is gone and the desert has changed out there. Yes it is out there near Ludlow on the North side of the freeway.
Love your cabs beefjello!!!
