Here are some recent efforts from the shop. Cherry Creek jasper. I really like this material, but this one got a little weird on me. As I ground and polished, this white part got bigger and bigger, like agate revealed from under a layer of jasper. Kind of ruined the look of the cab, but c'est la vie. Some blue chalcedony. I ran into a guy at a sale last year who had this giant bag of blue chalcedony stones -- it looked like it was garden/landscaping material. He sold me and my kids 5 or 6 for a buck a piece. It works really nicely, but is a little hard to photograph because it is so light. Here's a closer shot on just a black cardboard paper background Dino bone I originally considered this lace agate, but now I'm not so sure. Either way, I think it's an eye-catching stone. A Rio Grande agate, from the backroads of Zapata. Finally, a little piece of something from my January Zapata trip. Softer than a jasper, (maybe a dolomite?) but shined up nicely and quickly. Sorry for some of the blurrier pics. Hope you like them. matt

Sweet Cabs Matt! With any Cherry Creek I have ever worked I haven't been able to achieve any bit of a shine....not like yours anyways. Love that Bone and the Lace looks like it might be Laguna. Possibly weathered Laguna. I have cut some nodules of Laguna with those colors in them and they appear to have been sitting out in the sun. Thanks for sharing. Steve
