Hello, I have an 18# Thumler's vibratory tumbler. I noticed water/grit leaking out the last time I started it. Took all the contents out, turned it over, and there is a 2 inch slit along the lowest part of the curve of the bowl. Do you all think I can fix this with epoxy, super glue, duct tape, prayer, or ? I love my tumbler and hate to see it not running! thanks loads, Janet

Welcome aboard Janet.....If you have a pic of it where it is broke it might help with the diagnosis......Questions though..Is it worn thin where it cracked ..or is it a cracked and solid..The latter is better..If you havn't done it you might add more padding under the bowl to help with the bending action of the bowl Whenever you fire it up again.....John

Can't help with repair but every brand I've sold will wear through bowl about 1/2" from bottom from using too much water. Grit settles to bottom and eats through the bowl.. If I was going to try a repair I would probably try JB Weld.

thanks so much! will try to get a pic posted. too much water could definitely have contributed to it, I always end up with more water in there than I intend.

Best to rinse the rocks/media and put in the bowl dripping wet. Add grit and start up. If it is moving normally don''t add any water. As a slurry forms and the load slows add very small amounts of water until initial movement is achieved.

I sometimes even put dry rock in the tumbler, add the grit or polish, a bit of soap, Borax and turn it on. I wait until it's all pretty evenly "dusted", then I add the water with a spray bottle a squirt at a time 'til all the rock is coated with a slurry, and no more. It takes that little water.
