Haven't been much around with School and Daughter taking time. Will try to catch up on some fun events from the last couple months. My daughter loves bugs. Loves them and loves catching them. A month ago we came across this great guy while coming home from school. Becca had the critter climb about her hands and arms for a while, then we put him into a hedge nearby. She has put me to shame sometimes....as when she let a tarantula crawl over her hand at a local fair and, as I don't like spiders, I had to fight off the heebie jeebies and let the arachnid crawl over my own.

What a cutie!
My daughter used to bring home all kinds of stuff, one time at the park she found a garter snake and wrapped it around her ankle and rode her bike home with it wrapped around her ankle, she kept if for a few months and then let it go in the back yard.

That's sweet! Cutie and the bug : ) I like mantises, too, when they are about an inch long. Last year I found several odd cocoon type things in our yard. Cut the twig off and put it on a shelf outside to see what would happen, then put the on my workbench in the shed. Soon after, I saw infant mantises crawling on my bench. Darling! None of us knew what the cocoon was from until the little critters emerged.
A four inch long mantis.... maybe not so cute! Need an attitude adjustment!

Yours are bigger than mine bud for letting that spider crawal around on you. - couldn't do it myself. Not even going to try and fight off the heebies - just not going to happen! Kuddos to you for doing it for your daughter!!!

Harlie likes bugs as well, she'll even pick up spiders that are in the house. She knows what black widows look like, they're the only dangerous spider that we have in southeast Virginia. Co-workers always try to tell me they see brown recluse's all the time. (morons) lol

I personaly haven't seen the recluses here where I'm at but, they are here; as some in this area have had the pleasure (?) of meeting them first hand and have paid the price. Nasty little creature!

Yeah they are!! We just simply don't have them here, none at all. The only three "confirmed" reported cases (since the 50's) were from people who had just moved here from out in the mid-west. (go figure) lol

You need to take that camera card to Costco's photo shop, and do a BIG enlargement on canvas with the second shot. That , is a winner.
