Great colors. How do you cook them?

I have cooked 4 loads and ruin all 4 ! Those are my favorite rocks Carlos because they were heat treated by rock collectors a very long time ago. Those flakes and pieces were picked(on hands and knees) from an indian camp that has a soil road running thru it.The heat treated material is zero to a couple of feet deep. But 5-600 degrees is about what is needed-heated slowly up,held and then slowly down over a 10-30 hour period.I almost got it.Cover the material with 2 inches of sand and build a slow camp fire on top of it.I am still trying. An electric oven is the best way.
