Thank you everyone. Her friend has a broken collar bone and they kept her sedated through Sunday night as every time she woke up she was very combative. I believe she's doing much better now and they have moved her from ICU.
I finally got some sleep last night. It's been a roller coaster ride but the grief has given way to joy knowing they are going to be okay.
Again thank you all very much.

What a scare!!! Kids are tough, and as her neck wasn't broken all the way, sounds like she'll heal up good as new.
That's one of my biggest terrors as a parent is to get a call in the middle of the night with someone telling me one of my kids was in a car accident. I don't think you can ever outgrow that terror either once you become a parent. Hope she recovers sooner than expected for a happy surprise!!!

Good news she was just released about an hour ago and is on her way back with her mom!!!! ;D
I talked to her this morning and she said she was feeling better. She walked her floor with the physical therapist this morning and was given permission to shower last night which made her feel a lot better. She got to go see her friend and talk to her but from a distance. Her friend has developed MRSA which is really bad and contagious staff infection. Hopefully they can treat that fast and she can be released soon as well.
Just wanted to say thanks again, we really appreciate all your kind words and support. I hope to show Shasta this thread soon, though my initial post wasn't the most well written lol. I had about 6 hours of sleep since Friday before last night. Life can change on a dime, It's important to appreciate what you have while you have it. Please buckle up!! Even in the back seat!!
John I'm glad your dad is okay!! I meant to reply to you this morning but got distracted. There's a lot riding on our tires!!
Thank you all! ;D

We all understand Beef. We loves ya and we're really happy to hear she's doing so well that she gets to go home. Times like this remind us all to count our blessings every day, every minute of every day. Jo

That's great news to hear that Shasta has been doing physical therapy, Beef. Will continue prayers for her progress and that her friend beats the infection.

I am a wee bit late on this one, but, I pray the healing goes well, and fast. Calls like this a hell on parents, probably causing as much trauma as the child's injury. So, I hope you are surviving this in a good way. Woody
