VISUAL PHOTOBUCKET TUTORIAL Some members might not know how to post pictures using Photobucket as their host. That’s why I created this simple and very basic tutorial, to help them get familiarized with it. I didn’t go throughout all of the available options, just the basic ones to upload and post. *** It’s very important to know that there are options to make your albums Private or Public. Please choose your options carefully when you create them. The image quality is not the best but in order to speed the loading of the page I used low resolution images. - Look at the information and arrows in red - First Screen: Sign In
Second Screen: Fill out and print for reference or copy password and save. Third and Final screen: Membership - You are now a member! They will send you a Welcome to Photobucket email with a link to log in. (Below) I selected “No thanks” and went directly the member's start page, you could take the other option to learn more about their other features. You are a member, get familiar with Photobucket now!
Members start page: Navigation menu details: (below) Home Albums Explore the site UPLOAD *IMPORTANT* to upload your photos to Photobucket Quick options under your User’s name How to upload photos into Photobucket Uploading your photos – Search for the ones you like and click to select. Uploading & Options Name & Describe Photos Go to your Album, click on the photo you want to use and this page will appear. NOTE ERROR: If you click on the "IMG Code" The photo Link will be copied, not the photo. Forgot to add the "link" word.Go to RTH and post your photo or link. If you only copied from Photobucket just paste the link and make sure it already included the [ img ] and [ /img ] without any spaces in-between. Look at examples in the next picture. If not, just add what it’s needed. You could also select the whole link and press the “inset Image” button, or “Hyperlink” if it is going to be a link. It already inserts the tags at both sides. Practice by using the ”Preview” option before posting and check that the images or links are showing and working. The End – Good Luck!

Troubles here. I'm using the older version of Photobucket, not the All New version. I get to clicking on IMG, then nothing. It used to show up in my RTH Post Message area. Where is it now?
Got it. Before if I clicked on IMG it went immediately to my post.
Now, I click on IMG, then copy and paste to my post.

Sorry Pat, I didn't get to see this on time to help. You probably solved the problem already but the copy & paste you mentioned is always a good & quick option.

Thanks Dora but its just too much for me and or my tablet. Thats a lot.of trouble to put a pic up plus the pics I see directly.posted to this forum are very nice. My.older tablet takes forever to go look at a pic from photo bucket, so slow!!! As for flicker JamesP posted pics of his pups and the are so nice and clear but his pics on flicker are horrid in comparison, sorry JamesP. I think whatever tge problem wiyh loading pics to this site needs fixing, using other pic sites is a bandaid not a improving fix. I can.post pics on other forums and email pics n all with my tablet. Rockhounding and lapidary are THE BIGGEST SINGLE REASON THIS FORUM NEEDS PICS!!!!! Pics are so important to this site! Sory if I have offended but somebody needed to say this, just about every newbie posts about the issues with pics, this should tell us something serious bad needs fixing.

;D Don’t worry orrum, be happy, there are worst things in life to worry about, your problem could be solved, it just takes a little patience to find out how. I don’t really think anyone will be offended by your comments, learning new things could be very frustrating at times. The thing to remember is that many times the beginning of new things tend to appear more difficult than they actually are. If you explain your problem better we might be able to help you. But you do need to describe the following: - The type of tablet you are using, others in here might be using the same model. -How are you are failing at trying to post your pictures, and which photo sharing services are you currently trying to use to post your pictures in here. - Are you getting any error messages as you try and what do they say? - What are your current steps to post pictures successfully at the other forums you mentioned? *** The more we know the better chance we have to pinpoint the problem. ***Now, if you already decided that Photobucket and Flickr don’t work for you, then there are other free services available that you could explore. Here are a couple of links that review some of them: Online Free Photo Sharing Services: webtrends.about.com/od/prof4/tp/Free-Image-Hosting-Sites-For-Photos.htmwww.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2405242,00.asp After you choose any of the services you must read all of their instructions very well in order to post pictures successfully. The same patience required for our hobby it’s required to learn how to post pictures correctly. If one of your main concerns is related to the loading speed, there are many problems that could cause the pictures to load slowly, and most of them come from our own electronic devises. People with older devices and lower internet speeds suffer the problem the most. Many things could even slow newer devices, like not having them properly configured, defective hardware, the need to update new drivers or software, and even the possibility of infection by some type of malware. It’s always a good idea to check the manufacturer’s websites of our devices to find out about ‘known issues’ and new drivers, they might even have a helpful user’s forum as well. Never the less, it's always a great idea to be very familiar with the owner's manual of your own device. Lastly, I must say that I created this tutorial using the lowest resolution I could do to make it load faster, as high resolution pictures (which looks much better) take a longer time to load because of their bigger file size . So, if you need the tutorial in PDF form, you could send me a PM with your email and I could send it to you (File size small: 953 KB). You will need to have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader installed in your device to be able to read it. Lots of things, so I'm hoping any of these will work!

Ok Dora I feel somewhat better. On other forums I simply click on attachment during my posting and it takes me to my photo gallery on my tablet and I click on the pic I want and it attaches to my post. Its that simple and if you want tomake multiple attachments I just keep repeating the process. On here we have a attachment place to click when making a thread but it does not work, my tablet just sits there and then blinks and goes back to the thread without my post or pics added. Its a Samsung 3g Galaxy.

You see orrum, now I get it, the attachments option! I had a similar problem with it, I tried to attach a PDF document of less than 1MG and would not accept it, I got an error message indicating the size limit and no matter how small was my file it will not take it. So yes, there’s a problem with it and let’s hope they eventually fix it because it will be very useful to all. I checked your Samsung 3g Galaxy online and it has a lot of great reviews, the only thing you need to realize is that mobile devices have many excellent features as smaller portable devices but are not yet as powerful as newer home devices, so it’s a trade-off we all have to face. The best thing to do is to keep your tablet as sharp and updated as possible to get the most out of it. I went to the Samsung website and found many useful features that you should check, specially the News & Alerts section which lists new updates and the free Live Chat Technical Support. Here’s the link: www.samsung.com/us/support/If you finally decide to try Photobucket and need more guidance just let me know and I will try my best to help you out. NOTE: Good News - I just found out that the attachment's problems was fixed. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=biss&action=display&thread=57431&page=1
