We got a COMPLETE SURPRISE yesterday from Frank (3rdrockfromthefun)! The story behind this surprise box though is kinda sneaky and super fun!!!
I was running an errand and wasn't home when the mail came.
My 12 year old daughter Brooke was in the living room and got the mail, when I got home she said "Mom, you got rocks!". I looked at her strangely and said "Hmmmmm I didn't order anything?" She brought the large stuffed mfrb box over to me and then said "It's from Tony at Idaho Rock shop and ..........." (a little bit more of a dramatic pause) "........... OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! IT'S FOR ME!!!!!"
I laughed so hard I almost laughed the cold bug I've been suffering from all week right out of my head, lol! She was jumping all around and grabbed my hand and dragged me into the kitchen where she proceeded to sit on the kitchen floor. She was very adamant that I could look but not touch until she had a chance to examine every rock ;D
Her reaction and excitement though was absolutely priceless! She ID'd on her own the Chrysocolla, the Petrified Wood, the Picture Jaspers and Obsidian. Not by location of course.... I can't do that either
Others we are both unsure of but she can't wait to start cutting and working them!
HERE IS THE BIG KICKER THOUGH!!!!!! We got the box from Catmandew with no note....... I pm'ed Tony thinking what the??? Why did you do this but it's so cool?
I pm'ed him most of the story above. He pm'ed me back and told me that it was all a surprise from Frank! Frank totally fooled me and ordered a box off the website directly from Tony to send to my daughter Brooke. That was sneaky and soooooo totally cool!
I've never seen Brooke so ecstatic to get her own box of rocks in the mail before, especially from the super cool rocker Catmandew! What a treat!!!!!! I'm actually very jealous of her rocks, lol!
She asked me to take a couple of pictures. I was all over it and said sure, let's do a few of your favorites.... problem is the whole box is her favorite so I had to put a kabosh on it after a kazillion photos.

Love the smile on Brooke's face with her rocks, Krystee! Hilarious that she would only allow you to look at her rocks until she checked them out.
