Coupla months ago I had pics of wood found around a building we were working on.Got word yesterday they were doing dirt work for the parking lot.Had to force myself to check it out. Would have had better pickin'if it had rained hard and washed dirt off a bunch of them, but did fine anyway. Around 35-40 lbs All good solid fracture free pieces Larger pieces Tumbler size pieces, fine selection of colors Thanks for looking, going back after a rain if they dont have it paved. snuffy

Bill Yeah Bill,Its pretty well everywhere here. There is a layer 4 or 5 inches beneath the topsoil in our area.Where topsoil has been washed off,its laying on top the ground. This belt of wood is about 15 miles wide, following the Catahoula formation, from South Texas into Louisiana.I follow my dog around picking up pieces wherever he digs a hole. Used to hate wood when I dug postholes by hand, would always hit a flat piece. snuffy

I'm not far from you, in Georgetown, and am desparately looking for a place to hound. I don't suppose you could PM me with a location(s), could you? All we have around here are fossils and flint. I'm used to hounding in CO, UT, ID and OR so coming back home for eight months is killing me.
