I've been thinking of wrapping coins for years and finally gave it a try. I'm gonna do more of them to add to the variety of the stuff I show (although the rocks will always be my primary theme). Anyhow, it's kinda cool. lol

It's not cool....
It's Fantasmagorically Awesome!!!!!!!
My daughter and I collect coins, and rocks, and I never cared for the idea of drilling coins to make necklaces out of. But would love to give things like that out to people as gifts...(I have a bunch of friends that are always giving me their spare change and any old looking coins they find in their day to day stuff!!.) and I think it's a great idea!!

Yes, I could never bring myself to drill a hole in anything like this either. Wire wrapping for me is the only method of turning a piece of history into something to wear. I'm hoping that these will be a good seller!

I really like the look as well--the black bindings are perfect.

That is cool! Not really into old coins, but I'd wear that! The black and gold really make it attractive.

Yes, I could never bring myself to drill a hole in anything like this either. Wire wrapping for me is the only method of turning a piece of history into something to wear. I'm hoping that these will be a good seller! I saw a guy at a craft fair that wasn't doing so hot on sales and when he got bored, he started wrapping a few stones,, and then some coins... a guy passing by his booth watched him for a bit then pulled out a coin and told him, "this is my lucky coin,, carried it with me for 47 years,, can you wrap it like that for me so I can wear it?" Guy says sure, take me x# minutes, guys says I'll wait I want to see it take shape...people started to gather as his work table was in the front of the booth... long story short, he made 15 custom pieces that day and took home order for another 20+ pieces... made his budget for the week on that 1 show... and after seeing what you do with wraps I have no doubt you could do better!! When you're ready PM me, I have a 1962-D Franklin Half for you to wrap!! It's my birth year coin and I would love to have it wrapped!

Great job as always.
Coins that are wrapped are almost always a custom order, but once you show you can do them and get your name out there, people will begin to recognize you.

That is pretty cool! You might take it a step futher and cut out all the flat work on the coin. I talked to a guy at a craft show in Carefree AZ last summer and he told me he made $80k last year selling them that way. His space fee for one of the shows is $4k for ten days and he has no worries of making it back. I'm detail oriented but, that's a little to detailed for me.

saw the dime first ....I am impressed with the whole coin thing....the Indian looks really cool.......I am super impressed with how you get the wire in your wraps to follow the perimiter of the item so nicely....it is the details like that that take a piece from being decent to being fabulous !......
