Hi all! Sorry I haven't been on the board much lately, lots of life stuff going on. Anyway, saw this design at a show we were at last weekend, put on by our rock club. A fellow member did this, and when I saw it, I had to give it a try! This is a bit rough, I'm thinking I should go to a heavier ga of wire, I used 21ga DS silver. It seems to be very fragile, in fact, before I could even photo it, I managed to drop it and bend it a bit! dangit!! The stone is some Flower agate, St. Johns' I believe. Looks to me like this design has potential for a lot of variations to the basic idea. Am definately gonna have to practice some on this. Take care! Mike

That is a cool design. The prongs are so nice and tight, I'm in awe.

Hi Mike! It's a neat design and I really like it with that stone! Might not be the g. on the wire. Might be the hardness. You might want to try half hard instead and you might even be able to go with a smaller g. then. Might be worth the try. Keep posting on your results.

Nice job Mike! I can see endless variations in this design. I look forward to seeing more of this. I agree with Cathy that HH wire might work better. I have been burnishing my work in the tumbler and I've heard that work hardens the wire.

Hi, Mike - awesome design, very clean and contemporary-looking. I can certainly envision numerous 'variations on a theme' as well. Kudos to your fellow rock club member for his/her work! Any chance of a brief tutorial or description on how this is done? Inquiring minds want to know... Best regards and have a happy Thanksgiving, Jack

That's a cool design! Nice work. It looks like it may be a pain to keep the long runs of wire parallel to each other with no bindings, but you managed it.
