Just used aluminium oxide for the first time and pleased with the results and will be using it again on my next batch, I see that a lot of people re-use the their polish mix so I intend to do the same but was wondering if I should be adding a little fresh aluminium oxide to the mixture to rejuvinate it a bit or will it do just as good a job the way it is and if so how many times can I use it before it starts to deteriorate to the point where i need to make a fresh mix, Thanks!

I just pour the used slurry in the barrel to the same level as I would set for water. You may have to add some water to reach your normal level and add the normal amount of polish. The thicker slurry seems to do a better job of polishing than using fresh water and fresh polish each time. The denser fluid may help cushion the rocks during impacts. I've never tried recycled AO slurry without adding fresh AO.

I've been using the same polish for about 1 1/2 years now [10 weeks beteen uses], adding 1/4 of a "new batch amount" each time I run it. Works good for me.
