Just noticed that E-Bay seller : sdrockshop has a bunch of 10 lb. lots of agate up at $.99 opening bid. They also have some lots of Quartz , mixed , Rose and Smokey for tumbling. Noticed some lots of slabs also , starting around $ 4.00

They did good by me, added more than advertised. And that was before they said they would do that kind of thing.

Well, I got my box of slabs from them, and it sucks! Their ad said, "box full of slabed rocks" It didn't say only 18 small slabs, it didn't say under 3# of slabs. It said FULL BOX! there was more weight in newspaper than rock! I asked the seller a day before the auction ended if we were talking 20# or better, they never answered me. I know, I should have never bid on it, my fault. But don't say it is gonna be a full box of slabs when it is way less. I also bought 3 full boxes of rock and 1 full box of slabs from another seller and he wrote me and told me he took out all packaging so the boxes would be completely full, about 30/35# per box of rocks. I paid $11.99 for the most expensive box from this other seller. I paid $20.50 from sdrockshop, for under 3# of rocks. I wrote to him and will see what he says. His ad even said if there was room in the box they would even put a few more rocks in to keep the postal worker happy. I will never buy from this guy again. Here are the pictures I took right after I opened the box. This is all the slabs there was, in a full box.

Damn Earth that stinks! Looks like some of those slabs have some nasty saw marks too...did they cut 'em with a chain saw? It'll be interesting to find out what the seller does for you...

Yikes! That's a lot of money for old newspaper. Sorry to hear you got ripped off. I hope they make it right, or at least do better by you.

My boxes of rough were OK, and a few small nuggets got thrown in. BUT, It was 25lbs and he said it had to go in two boxes, but he would throw in some extra. I paid a really low price for the rocks, so I was not too upset. Still, he suggests that he is willing to pack really heavy boxes. I was even willing to leave out a 99 cent 3lb rock to get it in one box. NO dice.
Like I said, can't complain about the value, but I thought it was going to be slightly sweeter than it was.

earthdog id be pissed also...he used deceit in his auction.
1st....in the title he said FULL BOX OF SLABS...he didnt say what size box...this is just trickery by him.
2nd...in the first paragraph...he says YOU GET WHAT IS PICTURED.
3rd...in the same paragraph he finally mentions A FLAT RATE BOX..this makes 1 think FLAT RATE BOX...AND USES THE $8.10 SHIPPING....but he is actually saying this is all we ship in...more trickery.
4th...he then talks about the postal office.. BEING MAD BECAUSE THE BOXES ARE SO HEAVY.....more mind games to try and hide the YOU GET WHAT IS PICTURED sentence.
5th...in big red letters he says..IF YOUR FLAT RATE BOX ISNT FULL...FREE ROCKS.... to keep the POSTAL OFFICE HAPPY...implying that it will be heavy.
pretty piss poor way to run an auction if you ask me...kev.

Well I hope you get a positive response. Like I said, even having touse 2 boxes instead of one as heavy as implied in the listing, I still got a great deal. and at *.10 per box the guy made absolutly nothing off of either box - no handling. Gotta love that. I also appreciate nice Prarie Agate put up with 99 cent starting bids and no handling.
Lets see what response edog gets.

GD Earthdog, that is terrible. I bought from him and and did ok, there was a couple of rocks that to me made the batch. I don't understand why he would do something like that after the trouble he had with ebay, at this point I tried to find where we talked about him but don't see it now.
Two days after I pushed the button to buy I got back on to see what else he had and found that he was no longer a ebay member, I was a little concerned but had not spent very much money. Ten mins. later my box was delivered, he followed up with emails. The problem with ebay was something about a former name, and others here said they had bought from that name also.
I recognize a few of those slabs from the rocks he sent me, I went ahead and cut them hoping they would look better after polish.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear on my last post. The 2 links I put up was for the seller I bought 4 flat rate boxes from and he said he had to take out the packing so they would be plum full. steves02ss is on the level. sdrocks was not. I was trying to show that there are sellers that when they say full, they mean full.

Well I got a reply back from this moron, he says it was a beer flat box full. I'll never buy from sdrocks again. He doesn't sound like he is going to do anything about it either.

I do think he should take "Box full" out of the listing name since he also sells full flat-rate boxes in other listings. It is misleading.
Since he said "you get what it in the picture" and that he would "combine winnings" - he kinds implies there is room in the box. I think he is mostly guilty of reusing the same auction template for slabs as he does for rough.
Oh well
