Hello Again ! This is the first tiger eye stone I’ve worked just a penny pendant size This material was tricky! Soft. I think it graphite. I only finished it out at 1200on sanding paper. Then tried a combination red rouge & zam on cotton buff wheel. I think this is the front side difficult stone to photograph I call it the Black Forest Thanks for checking in Ed

Cool looking heart! I thought graphite would be toooo soft to work but you did a great job with it!

Thanks Cathy ! I thought it was marble when I got it but after working it --it was way too soft I'm sure its not graphite but remains in the tray had that type of texture
hhhhmmm... someone could I.D. it ?

Ed, The soft stone looks like Picasso Marble. I just worked on a cab of it today. It's pretty soft & doesn't take a shine, but shinny is overrated. It comes from Minersville, UT, about 45 mins north of me.

Fine job on those hearts Ed! I think that second one is my favorite of all the ones you've made.

Ed- is the second one just shiny like metal, or are there lines in it? I am thinking it is solid shiny and the lines are a reflection from the tree? Tony had coming like almost metallic looking and made a dirty royal mess, he might know. Anyways it looks cool and the tiger eye is nice too!!!

Hi Amber Difficult stone to photograph but the black lines are what I thought was graphite ---its definitely not hematite-- and its in grayish-bluish green matrix
The front side as that reddish blur in it that looks like a fire or a sun setting in a forest really cool effect in the stone
I occur with all the other fine folks suggestion that it Picasso marble
Thanks Everyone !
