Looks like you just got blessed. Hard to find Mexican Opal jars with larger pieces like that anymore. Smaller stuff now a days. I see a lot of man made faceting rough in the green trays in the photo with the Rocks & Minerals book, the boules.

John that's a heck of a score. I have the same exact saw and love it. I'm thinking the purple is sugilite. If it is a piece that size is worth a good chunk of cash. Can't wait to see you cab it. Those mexican opals are some really big chunks, you'll have fun cabbing those.

Donnie if you are talking about the guages to the right those are multimeters..Got 3 of them....Tony the rock is most likely sugilite from what I have been able to find about it on the web ...It weighs 7.4 lbs so I will put it in the Score box ;D...Gonna try to do some cutting this weekend...Chris I was given some opal from a fella I got some slabs from before ..Not big at all ..There are some big pieces in here ...Hey Beef Remember what I said about Rock Karma...Gotta do it again....John Some more pics of odds and ends Glass boules for faceting Disk Box for flat laps...Still has the stone /polish guide attached Some jewelry stuff Ring sizers hammer Old microscope with box and slides Slabs that didn't get posted the first time The tiger eye is solid, the big green square is jade.. Brian it is a slice of sodalite.....As far as what the purple one is... When I get a better cut we can go from there....Who knows ;D...John
