Well folks, we have an issue! We have rain today and probably all weekend. In most states this would not be a bad thing for a rockhound but here in the AZ Desert, it is not a good thing until after it has quit. Our gound does not absorb water well and just runs off quickly into the washes and on flat land. It can cause very dangerous situations in a matter of minutes! We have had people loose their lives thinking that they are safe out there. Another situation is it may be raining light on the ground level but harder higher up in the hills. All that rain will run down and catch you off guard. I will drive to Brenda for the big breakfast and then decide whether to go in or not.. I would rather have you safe !! The Sunday hunt is also still in Question. We will have to watch the weather.

I'm still holding out hope for the hunt but I'm with you on being safe rather than sorry. Maybe we'll catch a break.

Yes to Jim & Diane! You have the right location. The weather will be the problem, we will have to watch closely.

It looks to be raining all weekend, so if I were you, to be safe, I'd wait until another time. Being out in the rain in the AZ desert is never a good idea. Just my 2 cents.

sadly, I love the desert in the rain. Stay on high ground and the rocks are already wet! The rain is here now, leaving for you guys and will get you just a little wet. It is not a HUGE storm at all.
