No, my brand new Lot-o Vibe from the Rock Shed is working well, but I'm unhappy with this first load. It just ate $2000 worth of Turquoise preforms. I only vibed for 3 hours with 500 grit, then 3 hours at 1000 pre-polish, and the pic you see is the result. It was 2 pounds of Royston that was supposed to go to the Gem and mineral show in Japan this month. Rats. Any advice welcome (yeah I know - don't tumble stabilized turquoise!) as I bought it specifically to tumble turquoise. rats again. Phil Attachments:

You can unglue the little dowel and move it around to lower the frequency. Just loosen the two screws on the back springs and pry the hot glue from the base. Then with four pounds of whatever in there, move the dowel, tighten the screws and test it out. If its worse, go the other way with the dowel.
When I bought my double Lot-O, it was way to harsh even for quartz!

Thanks. How do I know what the proper action should be? I've used rotary tumblers before, but am new to Vibes.

For your soft stones, less is better. Try to adjust it so the rocks move slower. They shouldn't jump around much while they are rotating, even for harder stones.

Ouch, I can't help but I feel your pain, that looks like a disaster.

or, sell the lot-o and get a minisinic w/ adjustment knob. also, consider raytec dry polishes.
