Not sure if this goes here but we wondered in to Ikea a couple weeks ago and found a display case that I thin works well for specimen collection. We put it together over the week and I think it works pretty good. It was easy to put together and the door can be left or right handed. I assembly is a 2 person job with the tall glass but not very awkward. It does not come with a bulb lamp but has the lamp right there for you to purchase. The bulb is a little dim for the lower 2 shelves but still displays well and you can add a side light to show off the lower shelves. If you get one I would suggest picking up extra bulbs to save a trip but I'm sure you can find them online. The display comes in blonde and darker walnut. DETOLF Glass-door cabinet $64.99 Product dimensions Width: 16 3/4 " Depth: 14 3/8 " Height: 64 1/8 " Max load/shelf: 13 lb www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10011055/Sent from my SPH-D710 using proboards Attachments:

Saw the same case a few weeks ago and said to myself the very same thing. My wife almost bought it but I already had enough in the cart. Maybe she will get it for me for Christmas. It looks like a great display case. Steve

I have admired that case for a while. Unfortunately shipping is over $100. But, I hear that next year there will be an Ikea in Kansas City. So ...

That looks cool! How far does the top lip extend over the sides? Can you set three or four of them side by side without a large gap? I really like the all glass look! The only display cabinet that I have that is completely encased in glass is completely full. I need another encased cabinet!!! I like mine though. It also is only lit from the top so the lower levels need more lighting. It's a decorative wood and glass display cabinet that is old school. Fell in love with it because of the manufacturers branded stamp on the bottom wood shelf (lower left corner of the picture) What rockhound can't fall in love with a "Jasper Cabinet" ;D Please let me know how you like it Matt, Ikea's only about 30 minutes away from me!
