I don't know if this is allowed or OK with this message board to do this. I have a favor I was hoping someone could help me with.
Christmas of last year my daughter wanted to start tumbling rocks so I picked her up a tumbler and some slag and off we went. It was some great daddy and me time. We worked on the rocks until a busy summer put our new hobby on hold. We had just taken our tumblers and rocks out again to start another winter of our new found hobby when Sandy hit.
The tumblers were on top of a table and other rock equipment was in a small plastic bin next to it. I thought everything would be OK, but we took over two foot of water in the house and the table and bin flipped over. We lost all of our grit, books, brushes and other things like that in the bin to the water and the tumblers were under salt water for over 24 hrs. as well. Needless to say they are done. We did save the rocks because they are rocks.
We also ended up losing our house and much of the stuff in it. But we are all safe staying with friends. We are starting the process of rebuilding our house. On pilings this time.
I would love to get my daughter tumbling again. But can not buy anything right now. If any of you have an old lortone tumbler that you are not using anymore and could spare it for a new Jr. rock hound I would really be thankful. I cleaned off all 4 of her tumbleing barrels and they look to be fine this is why I am asking for the Lortone type tumbler.
