A quick project to create a decorative stone mosaic bowl to catch my rare piece of outgoing snail mail and otherwise just sit looking pretty... Many slabettes from trades with "Snuffy," as well as polished cabs and slabettes of my own devising. Original wooden bowl base found in a Goodwill donation center.

Awesome! What's that, about a foot in diameter? Really cool! Jean

Yes, roughly a foot in diameter. If it was much smaller, it would be difficult unless I used all really tiny pieces ... this size is perfect to show off some larger slabettes as well as cabs in the mosaic.

Great work, Mary! That's the ultimate in recycling a found object into a work of art! By the way, what sort of grout did you use? Kris

Hey, thanks, sorry I did not see your question earlier. My internet service has been very slow on sites with lots of photographs. The grout in this project was pre-mixed grout from Home Depot. I have done other projects with the super cheap grout that you mix and paint yourself, and it works fine too.

it looks like you have some really good stones in there too!
I saw this done in the summer with tiles, making craft mosaic. I haven't got around to it yet but I have mosaic tiled two floors with mica schist since!
