I have seven thumbler tumblers and I have been replacing the nylon bearing and pulleys why to offen. A few weeks ago I was down to two working tumblers, so I thought I would replace all the pull shafts and drive shafts again. And the tumblers work for a few spins and then stop. If I turn with my hands they start to spin then stop again. The weight in the tumblers most be ok I think , the two tumblers that work I switch with the tumblers that don,t and they spin. I even give a little spray with lube on the rollers to see this might help but no luck. can the motors be wearing out ? When I take off the drums the drive shafts work ok. I am wondering if anyone else has had these issues. The tumblers are only 5 years old.

I'm having a similar issue with a Lortone 12# tumbler.
I've replaced belt, cleaned the pulleys, checked the shafts to make sure they spin free and all is inline with the other few identical tumblers.
This one is used, of unknown age, but seems to have lost the "umph" in the motor.

I hope it's not my motors , I guess I could try to buy one motor to see if it helps. Any other ideas anybody has please let me know. I guess I could also just switch the motor on the working to the none working to see if that helps.

If the belt is adequately tight, and the drum and rollers turn easy by hand, then I am pretty sure it is the motor. I got that exact thing on my Lortone tumbler. Time for a new motor.

you could try a simple test, swap a questionable motor with a known good one and see if it runs normally or not. I think I will do that, put the one weak motor on another tumbler that works fine and see if it runs normally or still acts weak.

Hi, I am new here, but that is what my old T-2 did before I put in a new motor.I put a more Heavy Duty motor with more hp.Now it runs perfect. Also I will say the cover on the motor is cooler too.I don't know if this will help.Just my 2 cents worth.

I now have 5 of them running out of the seven. I put some oil on the nylon bearings . I picked up lortone 12 lb the other day as well to see if I have better luck with it. I really want the 40 lb lortone now but might have to wait until the new year. I going to order new motors from the rock shed to see if it will help get them running again. But I am thinking that the pulleys and nylons bearing have changed some how or the tray it self is getting warped or something.
