Out of the blue I was remembering that when I was a child sometimes my mom will find rocks that looked like a potatoes in potato bags. She will give them to us to play and they were very cool. I went to ebay to see if by any chance someone was selling one of them and only found this one: www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-potato-rock-/150965377508?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23263cd9e4LOL, I guess they not include potato rocks in potato bags anymore! So if you have some of them, you might get some $$$ for them ;D

HiYa Dora Potato rocks are very cool !
Although I'm not sure what that e-bay seller doing
He doesn't seem to give any description or location where found, and that is an outrageous price, I would think. I think he may be a Mr. Potato Head
I have some pictures of what I call potatoes collected in Holbrook area Hopefully Gary gr will see this post and comment Ed

I think he may be a Mr. Potato Head He said he found it in a sack of potatoes. He has no feedback, no other items for sale, no previous sales and just 3 views. It's a joke, or he has some kind of bet going on. Anyway, it wouldn't be worth that much unless maybe it was "Old Stock".

Back when I was about 14, I was in a resturant in LaGrange with my Dad after a long day delivering Colonial Bread, Dad drinking coffee and I a coke. Got to talking to the waitress about collecting rocks. She was very interested. She showed me a few rocks in alittle garden display in the resturant and all the rocks looked like petrified potatoes. So Cool !! She gave me two. They are really neat !! Hope I can find them and post the pictures. I have so many rocks packed in boxes and tubs !! I have a rock habit, hate to admit it but I do !! I have put them on display at times and called them petrified potatoes - NOT.
Still Digging in the Wet Georgia Dirt Today, Frankie

This is the potato rock that I find here in Wyoming. I have found three, I think, but I only know where one of them is stashed, My hands are pretty large and I can not close my fingers around it and it sticks out of my fist about an inch. I only have the one photo of it. I can fool just about everyone that looks at it. The only bad thing about it is that it has no eyes. Pretty cool rock though. Jim

I have seen whole Lake Superior Agate nodules, those with the entire outside husk still intact, called potatoes. They do look almost like little red potatoes. I'm not sure that it is a name collectors actually use though. That's a cool Russet Stone Jim.

That's a really cool potato! The ones we got were similar but much smaller. The link for the Potato Rock Museum is great, so there are some potato rocks that are actually petrified potatoes! Wow those must be very rare and expensive.

Jan, yes, it's pretty funny! But give shotgunner the credit. He found the site, I only fixed his link! Now I'm going to be looking for rocks that look like potatoes, too... Jean
