Hello all My name is Mark Goodell from La Grande OR. Just joined the Rock Tumbling Hobby website Just a little about me: My photography hobby friend introduced me to Rock Hounding about five years ago. Wish I would had been exposed as a kid for I grew up in Malheur County Oregon some of the best Rock Hounding sites in the state. I have a home built Rock Tumbler that has 1 15Ib barrel 1 12Ib barrel and 4 6Ib barrels that I can run all at the same time. I also have a 20" refurbished Highland Park Slab saw and a Covington 10" trim saw. I need a mentor on the Lapidary portion of the Rock Hounding Hobby so if there is someone close to me give me a shout. Thanks Mark ;D

I'm pretty sure Michigan isn't close to Oregon, but I'll say hi anyhow. Hi Mark!
There have been several discussions about how to take pictures of rocks here, since we like to post pictures of our rocks. Maybe you can give us some tips.

Welcome from California. I don't tumble rocks, but there are plenty of experts here who do.

Welcome from Vancouver WA, just out of Portland. I know it's a bit of a drive but maybe you could join the Pendleton or Hermiston club. I'm sure there's some artisans there who are more than happy to teach their skills. www.amfed.org/nfms/ClubsOR.aspIf you make it to Portland you're welcome to come hang with us anytime as well. Lee
