Still loading the new rough rock bin. The most depressing thing is most all this rough is too big for my ten inch saw so will have to be broken down before slabbing. Here are a few more goodies I especially like. Thanks for looking....Mel Found me a little pile of good Stone Canyon from the last CFMS trip our there. These will all fit the smaller saw. Found a pretty good sized pile of Dryheads from a long ago dig I made in Montana. Here are a few nice ones. Rose Agate from out by Ludlow, CA. I forgot a fifty pound nodule of this I left somewhere or maybe Lowell got it. Some nice old redline Missouri Lace. Some real solid Wingate Plume Nipomo Sagenite nodule: Mc Dermitt sagenite: And finally a big TeePee Canyon about six inches across the face.

Those Dryheads are fabulous! I am really liking your rock pile cleaning. The Teepee is super nice too. Hell...it all is Mel. Thanks for sharing. I sure would have liked to have dug Dryheads before they closed it. Steve

Steve: Back then it was $35 for all you could collect in 24 hours. It was summer so it stayed light till like 10:00pm and it was in the middle of a savage lightning storm. I dug pretty much the whole time and stopped only for a little food. Main nodule seam was under about four or five feet of hard brown limestone and the dig manager would allow no undercutting so man, that was probably the hardest dig I've ever been on. My part of the hole was pretty crappy too. Guy just over from me was pulling out big nodules even just under the surface and found three times what I did. He really had the luck. Took heavy picks, sledges, bars and chisels to get those rascals out of the matrix. There was surface material everywhere in the tailings and I wish I had taken more as it was kind of a lacy fortification material but I was too excited and wanted the nodules with the big fortifications....Mel

Lovin' this!
As for the Rose...I don't think that piece migrated to my pile. I'm fairly sure I would remember it.
CFMS ran a field trip out there last year and people are calling the stuff "Christmas Tree" agate now. It's funny how old things become "new" again with a renaming.
Beautiful dryheads!
Keep them coming!
Lowell

Holy cow... dryhead and teepee are nuts!!
I thought you weren't supposed to cut those because they're specimens? Now that I think about it, i can't remember seeing either dryheads or teepees slabbed (course, how many times have I ever seen pix of em anyway).
