I bought this online for $3.00 and the person selling it has no idea what it is, so I cut the very end off it and while trying to grind it enough to see the end I actually put a bit of shine to it. Hopefully someone here can help me identify it. Sorry for the last 2 .. lil blurry due to crappy camera. Basically brown with lighter brown lines moving across the cut. All help is as always.. appreciated!! Thanx & Marry Christmas!

it cut really easily too... almost made me think it was man made, but then I had a brand new blade on the saw too so that helped.
thanx for the guesses peoples.

if it cut easy, then some sort of silt stone
