just got my C40 band saw today and I am a happy camper... cut the first 2 pieces and it was too easy.... like it better than my trim saw!!

no. it can trim shapes out of slabs upto 1/4", maybe thicker if softer material and you go real slow.

I've cut 1 1/2" jasper but can't get a straight line. The fuser blade is made to cut thick pieces of fused glass. We took agate slabs to Gryphon to check them out before becoming dealers to see how they handled hard rock. We cut some 1" circles. I asked the factory guy how thick it would cut and he picked up one of the 1/4" circles and cut it into two 1" circles as straight as can be. I've never been able to do it myself. I can't even cut a cross without using the thicker fuser blade. They are amazing saws for what they are designed for.
