I have heat treated a couple of these Brian. They react well with strange color changes. This 12 pound batch is going in the slow tumbler for a gentle rounding and then finish to polish.Next load will be cooked and then tumbled. They look like disease, like a shortage of penicillan:>

If you post enough threads, something's got to look good Pat.

Ugh....I feel like I touched a frog....
I'm gonna get warts... I know it...
All those bumps and things...
Damn amphibians....
Gosh darn purty things, though....

They must have suffered from a lack of Penicillan, Lowell:>

That's a great display. I've seen botryoidalism in agates and hematite on occasion but I've never seen a basket full of them babies. Your collections are always amazing.

The Withlacoochee has psuedomorphs up to basketball size. They break easily and are in the river gravel.I just broke those up into tumbling sizesThey look like bryozoians-remember talking about putting spices on em and Pat freaked out haha your funny Carlos. She was getting sick about it haha. You can fill up a couple of gallons in an hour or two.Crazy textures. They will have to tumble slow and easy.Apparently that is low grade opal.

I have cooked a very few of these opal linnings.I do have a dozen in the oven right now.Along with new corals from several new spots. The opal has turned deeper red and jet black.Go figure. Will be posting pics of this cook out tomorrow. This is linning without boytroids.
