I've been wanting to do this for a while now and finally got around to it. It could be neater. Next time will be better. This is an OJ and silver with patina. edited to add- It was the 6 wire woven bail that I was trying to work out. Attachments:

It looks cool although for me the woven bail detracts from the cab since there is so much going on in it, but that's just me. You did a great job on the weave and the wrap.

Thanks! Drocknut- thank you for your opinion! I know what you mean, actually. I didn't envision the end product when I started. I was so eager to try the bail that I just jumped right in when I had some free time. You are right, though, and I appreciate your honesty.

I don't think the bail detracts from the stone at all because the stone has so much going on. To me it compliments the stone. I like it, but that's just me.

oooooooo... I wouldn't change a thing about it... The wires wrapped as they are add to the character of the piece and make it seem to be more than it is!! Makes it look, I don't know... not older, but vintage maybe is the word I am looking for. It reminds me of a time long ago. I guess vintage is closest to what I am trying to say.

Sometimes I wonder if I should even post what I'm actually thinking in fear of hurting someone's feelings or causing a stir but I know when I post my work I like to hear comments from both sides of the coin so to speak. It is how I learn. I'm glad you were not offended at my honesty. It is a beautiful wrap even if not to my taste.
