I am new to this and have asked a question about the Jooltool. I am aware of some of the comments on this tool and would be happy if anyone else can shed some light on the subject. At any rate, I believe this site will be going on my desktop as a sort cut for I so like to indulge myself in this or on this subject of rockhounding....thank you Rockhead11

I don't know anything about the jooltool, but welcome to the forum. Are you in Lake Superior Agate country? I'd love to get into a gravel pit in Minnesota to look for Lakers.

I understand that Lake Superior agates run from lake superior all the way through south and southeast Minnesota. I live in that area in the southern part, (google maps (sleepyeye mn). I have a couple of gravel pits in the area and plan on doing just that, Looking...Hope the heck I can figure out what I am looking for. Right now it is looking for smooth, and interesting looking rocks! Thank you Rockhead

Welcome from a neighbor in South Dakota. Lakers are found as far west as the eastern border area of South Dakota.

Check out this guy's video. It's really fun to watch him pick agates. I love the sound they make when they come out of the ground. You can get a pretty good idea of what an agate looks like in its natural environment. If you like this video, he has a bunch more.

I don't know anything about the Jooltool, but I don't think that's what most people use. I do like the finger socks (or are they finger warmers?) the lady in the video wears though.
