New minerals. This mine closed in 2002. Mercury / cinnabar specimens from this locality may become scarce. And the freebies from my favorite seller. 5 precious opal specimens from 5 different locations. I'll mount these later.

Mo new specimens. Large crystal in the center is a "Duckbill" twin type. I'll try to get a better pic of the twinning. Duckbill twin Selenite. Very nice example of twinning.

The duckbill twin type in your selenite TN is way cool, Don! Haven't heard of duckbill twin before. Very nice specimens and really like the rutile, too.

Jan, that's the first I'd heard of duckbill twins too. Had to google it just to make sure there was such a thing. Now I need to get a Selenite arrowhead twin to go with it.

I still need to google 'duckbill twins,' jakesrocks, and now there's 'arrowhead twin'... Are these only found in selenite??

I'll be bidding this week on a very nice Selenite crystal from the Cave of the Swords, Naica, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Mo new minerals. This first specimen came from the same mine where the famous Cave of the Swords was discovered. Just had to have a selenite specimen from this location. And this weeks freebie.

Enjoyed seeing your very fine new family members, Don! Love the selenite! Don, this is off-topic, but do you have any suggestions on where to find reasonably priced acrylic step risers to display small cabinet specimens?

Don, this is off-topic, but do you have any suggestions on where to find reasonably priced acrylic step risers to display small cabinet specimens? Depends on what you consider reasonable Jan. I'll see if I can find a link to the place where I bought mine and get back to ya. If you want to wait for the risers, they can be ordered from China at a fairly good price.

Lookin' forward to seeing your new wins (and freebies!!), jakesrocks!! Thank you, Don, for the link!! I checked out the link you provided and then found some at Collecting Warehouse, too. Wondered if you or any of our forum members have heard of the company or purchased anything from them? I purchased about 90 something display stands and bases. ahem. Found some blemished risers on ebay. The seller has them displayed on a background with different colored polka dots.

I've heard of collectors warehouse. Think I may have ordered from them in the past. For stands and bases, I check coin collecting supplies. I buy stands in bulk from them, usually at a much better price than mineral stands. The coin stands are better made too, but look just like the mineral stands.
Couldn't find the company that I got my step risers from. Right now I'm checking with a friend who buys and liquidates stores that are going out of business. She should have lots of store display items.
Won 10 more minerals & 2 more fossils last night. Should be here Saturday.
