Its probably time to acknowledge my new fascination with rocks and lapidary stuff. As a retired zoologist and field biologist, I've got a background of stomping around in nature and rock hounding is just an extension of that. I have been tumbling beach stones and preforms in a vibratory tumbler for a couple of years, but more recently have added a couple of trim saws, cab machine, and a somewhat funky slab saw. Lucky for me, but not totally accidentally that I live here, New Mexico has lots of open public land, and areas available to hike, rock hound, and camp. The important issue is to find the balance between being outdoors and spending the time in the shop to find out what you have and do something "somewhat" creative with it in the interest of others. When the rainbow ends in your lawn chair its time to shut off the machine and contemplate the view. Thank you all for the encouragement, wisdom, and patience. Tom

Oh, I don't know. If a rainbow ended up in my lawn chair, I think I'd run over and sit in it, so I could be rainbowed , too!

Welcome to the forum. I have the same chairs but still in the box. Maybe I'll put them together so I can see a rainbow too. Where in NM? I spent a few days in Santa Fe last year and really liked the area around it.

Welcome to the forum. Very cool rainbow picture, so guess that ends the debate on if there's gold at the end of the rainbow cause evidently it's just a deck chair...lol.

Welcome fellow New Mexican. I am trying to figure out if you are in Bernalillo on the west side of the river or in Veguita on the east side. The clouds are blocking the view so I can get a good bearing. Jason

Jason, You are pretty good in your geography of Valencia County. I'm actually in Casa Colorado looking due North up the Rio Grande. I'll give you a call sometime. We met at the ABQ Gem and Mineral but it was a brief encounter, and I'm much deeper into rocks than I was then. Tom
