Had this one sitting around for a year now that my sister wanted me to rewrap for her because the original wrap had way to much wire that you couldn't see the stone barely. Any, it's only my second attempt at wrapping a faceted stone as a pendant. Took a lot of wire! I was supposed to use 20 gauge but I didn't have any so I used 22g. That meant more wire, which meant more ends to deal with. Lots of mistakes, but it works!

That's gorgeous, Donnie! That stone is unreal. I'm sure your sister will love it.

Wow that was a lot of wires! I think the top is a little too much for my taste, but the whole piece is beautiful nonetheless.

Actually this was originally designed by Mavis Llewellyn & featured in Wired. Here is the link, if you are curious. www.rockhounds.com/rockgem/articles/wirewrap.shtml Because I had to use so many wires & I started out with wires a little shorter than the tut suggested I had to do some improvisation to make it work. It's okay but I will be getting some larger gauge wire & might, might even try it with 18 gauge for a really large stone.

Thanks, Donnie Now I know why I thought it was Pat Capo's. She is a wrapper in the same vein as the Great One, Mavis Llewellyn. I have this issue of Wire Artist Jeweller, too. LOL! I love the old timer border wrappers. They are who got me into wrapping. I think, Ed Sinclair is my fav.
