Howdy folks,
I was just cleaning guns and watching the outdoor channel and stumbled across a fairly interesting program on the Gold Prospector. Worth watching for if any of you guys get cable. They visited and dug the Opal Hill Gem mine for fire agate and the Hauser beds, Potato patch and cinnamon beds for geodes. Not real scientific and the gold prospector host is kind of a doofus but still a good program and for me very nostalgic.
Was filmed during one of those rare wet years in that part of California so it was also cool to see the road into the beds totally turned into a stream bed and flowing so heavy in water that the guy actually had to camp and wait for the water to go down. I hit it that way myself one time and it was amazing how wet it got. Anyway, these guys often repeat programs so you can probably check your program guide if you want to catch the show.....Mel
