So, for assorted reasons, I've been working a lot smaller of late. What I'm finding is that I'm not having to sacrifice on image in the stones...when it's there, and that's pretty cool. I'm also learning to appreciate the color red...much against my nature, but it does grow on one if one lets it. This is the latest stuff. Hope you enjoy! Stinking Water Plume... a very cool stone! Gary Green Jasper An unknown red jasper One of the Nova Scotias, jasper agate mix Ok. That's it. I know....Lots of swirlies but I was already way out of my comfort zone on the red so I figured I'd give them a try...and they do seem to improve the...incessant red. Cathy

I don't wrap yet, but generally working small is more difficult.
Your stinking water plume is very cute. By the way, red is my favorite color! The cool red, not the orange red.

All of those are cute little guys! I'm kind of stuck on the plume the most, though

Yeah, that stinking water is a really nice little stone! I've never worked something with the kind of depth that has and it was a lot of fun! I found working the little stuff is tough on the hands, but it's what people are requesting so I'm trying to view things with a smaller eye, a difficult task!

I hear ya girlfriend! But, bad on you about the red! LOL!!!! I love the red stones. It's so weird to go small after doing so many big pieces. I love big stones and wraps so much, but, yes, a lot of people like them small too. I, also, find them harder on the hands. Your little wraps look great!! I really like the unknown jasper.

LOL! @ Tela, I thought of you on that jasper...It's why I went with the copper, lol! I find myself missing the broad landscapes and designs of the larger cabs while doing these but am discovering that there's a whole intensity in color... even red...lol!
@ Krista, after seeing your moonstones, I knew I could do it too! You gave me the courage to try on these! :-) One thing I'm finding, smaller pieces work a whole lot faster than the larger ones, in both cabbing and wrapping. For me, the speed is very disconcerting! I'm used to spending hours figuring out some of my wraps. With these little ones, it's a VERY compressed process!!!!

LOL! Hub, you're naughty! I'm finding the little stuff to be a bit more of a challenge. Going to have to try grooving with a dremmel on some of these earrings as they're so small... bead size stuff. Should prove a challenge! That's for tomorrow, though. Today, I'm going to go work some bigger stuff... that ISN'T red! LOL!
