Pretty slow going lately!!! Graveyard point Lepidolite, this is from some that I got from Mel. This one has two scenes, so it is wrapped to display either side. I think it was from a thunderegg of some sort.

Hello Donnie, was wondering how long it takes to make a average style wrap on say a 30x40 cab. Thanks,Bill

Anywhere from 45 min to an hour or so depending on how cooperative the wire & my fingers are. Sometimes I get hung up at the tail end of it, trying to figure out what to do with all the wires.

Wow so if I am figuring this right, yall take about 45 minutes to make a cab, is that for cutting the slab and dopping and shining the back or just grinding a already dopped and preformed stone? Plus then 45 minutes to wrap. I can make 18-25 very nice turquoise cabs in 2-3 hours. They r already backed, preformed and dopped but I only do freeform turquoise to get the feel of the stone and view pleasing. So if I got this right I am gonna spend a lot of time making a hard rock cab. If I am using all silicon carbide grinding wheels and belts does it increase my time versus diamond? What do you do with the leftover silver etc wire pieces? I read a wire wrap how to but like the corners that u n others use on the front to hold the cab better than the rounded. Lot of questions I know.....Bill

Those are really cool wraps Donnie. I really like that Lepidolite.
Bill, I send them in to Rio Grande for scrap. They either give you cash or credit but credit gives more money so I usually take credit. Basically with the prices of silver and gold I save every last little bit of wire. I usually keep the scraps in an old medicine bottle then when I get a full bottle I turn it in for credit.

Love these!!!! Ok, we're looking at the Graveyard tonight. Completely different but the top is similar. Check out this next box opening on Roaming Wire III. We did them differently but it's the same concept. This is a hoot! :-)
