ROFL! Looks like the pups are giving the cat hugs and smooches. Love the black cat checking the puppies out.

"dwarf panther?" ROFL! Our neighbors swear that there are a pair of bobcats that live in the woods behind our homes. I have taken pics of the "bobcats," well, bob-tailed kittehs. The "bobcats" don't have the 'eyes' on the back of their ears.

I would think a bobcat would eat a domestic cat gingerkid.I have wondered what their relationship might be. Dora, that cat comes out to get mauled everytime those puppies come out.Something is wrong w/that cat. They may turn out to be cat aggressive.Like no fear of them. What do you think?

Dora, that cat comes out to get mauled everytime those puppies come out.Something is wrong w/that cat. They may turn out to be cat aggressive.Like no fear of them. What do you think? James those ‘what do you think’ type of questions are sometimes … ! Let say that usually cats and dogs get along well when raised together, and dogs that are raised with many cats seem to be more tolerant of other cats, but, it also depends on the dog’s personality. If those pups are from a known more violent breed hopefully the cat will eventually learn to stay away from them. In the beginning of the pictures the cat went to the puppies with its tail up in a friendly way and just look at the way it left at the end. Dogs don’t seem to understand the body language of cats! It’s hard to tell without knowing more from them. Perhaps at the beginning when they were smaller and not as aggressive the cat enjoyed being with the pups, must probably the cat’s trying to fill some sort of unfulfilled need. As the pups got bigger and stronger than the cat, the cat’s facing a hard time dealing with them appropriately, but still keeps trying. The cat’s been patient but I think that if a moment comes in which the cat really feels pain he/she will have to bite one of them, and that pup will have a bad experience. Hard to tell the outcome, the other pups might get scared if they witness the fuss and the screams of pain of the incident, or things could even get chaotic, but it that actually happens, let’s hope that the pups will learn from the experience and the poor feline runs away and learn its lesson as well.

I think that if the dogs have not killed the cats by now they will be alright. I had a cat(dead now) and my dog had it in its mouth all the time when it was a kitten. Id come home from work and they would both be siting out in the yard and the cat would be a slime ball. They ended up being best buds and would sleep next to each other. It was a fur ball like the one jamesp has. Neighbor has at least 10 wild ones hanging on his back porch. They are pretty tough cats but the old dog hasnt ever gotten one. I think she just likes running them off her property when they get close enough. I live around corn fields and tree lines and those cats have a beaten path over a quarter mile long that they use everday to go to the woods and I guess hunt mice.
Also that cat picture is not a bobcat. They are noticeably bigger than a cat. People think they are the same size at cats but they are bigger. Bobcats are around southern illinois at our hunting spot. I worked on a new coal powerplant construction in southern Illinois and we would see them out there. It was out in the middle of nowhere. I really like that one picture with the black cat peeking in on the pups. Thats pretty funny.

Interesting cat/dog psychology analysis's.The three 80 pound hounds chase the cats up the tree-if-and only if the cat decides to turn tail and run.It rarely happens. The cats usually walk up to the big dogs and rub their scent on the dog's legs. The dogs freeze and stiffen up like rattlesnakes are weaving under them. And the cat will look up at them and slap them if he feels so inclined. The cats rule the adults. The cat has allowed the pups to do that.My guess is the cat will eventually establish controls w/sharp claw technique:>What do you guys think?

Hi, bhiatt, our neighbors think the cats with bobbed tails are bobcats. I shot the pic of the cat from a distance and then zoomed in on the cat to see it better. A feral tomcat decided he wanted to live with us a couple of years ago and he and our dogs, a Corgi/Dachshund mix (Heidi) and Rat Terrier/Feist (Sierra) get along great and didn't grow up together. They have the best time playing together. I think the cat, named Killer (KC), thinks he is the pack leader. He smacks the daylights out of the dogs when they get out of line. LOL! Heidi was adopted from our local Humane Society when I worked there in admin, and Sierra was given to us when she was 6 months old.

I agree as well, KC rules that bunch! It’s beautiful to see dog/cat relationships like that. My first cat looked exactly like KC. He got along politely with the dogs but he was much more into people. He lived all his life with me and died of end stage kidney disease when he was 19 years old. The funny thing about him was that whenever he got upset with me, because I didn’t give him the attention he wanted, he will come to me, looked directly at me, and sprayed me!

Yep, totally true! I was a child when I got him and I over-spoiled him carrying him like a baby everywhere! As I grew up and became a teenager the first person to be sprayed was... my first boyfriend!!! ;D And that's how all of it started! ;D

True Story....I had a friend that stayed over when I was a kid at my parents house back when I was around 12 years old. He hated cats with a passion for some reason. We had a old gray stray cat, smokey joe, that we would let in at night during the winter. One morning he woke up with a big pile of cat crap right next to his face. The cat never pooped or peed in the house ever before that. The cat knew he hated cats. It was hilarious.
