Stan, the bucket probably weighs in the 50 lb vicinity from my experience. At the rate I use,1 to 12 ratio, about 4 lbs of grit.Thats just me though! Interested to hear others! On the water, depends on how jagged the rocks are in the bucket,or smaller and more packed to me.The more jagged the less water I use.Did I confuse ya good enough?

About 6 cups grit and fill to the point you are going to cover the top of the rocks leveled.A little less water will stiffen the grit and mud it up and start cutting quicker.Like sheet rock mud kinda. If it is your cement mixer Stan, and it's got paddles in it,you best run it thick. The paddle may drop the rocks hard. You may have to add more rock to avoid a fall.Just sayin,it can fracture ,chip and frost your rocks.Frosting is bad.You may want to remove the paddles.I am guessing it's got paddles.Cause then it can damage your stuff thru the whole 4 steps.I had trouble with a tire tumbler because the action of the avalanche was too violent and it frosted my stuff.

This is a frosted rock Stan.If your tumbler is too rough this can happen stage 1 2 3 and polish.I will piss you off and waste your grits and rocks. Attachments:

Good point James, mine does have paddles. Do you think it will run smoother without the paddles and get the proper tumble? Also, SNUFFY, the rock Im tumbling is my scrap cuts mostly from SLABS that I have cut and trimmed. They mostly all have 90 degree angled edges. Stan

I'm trying to picture what kind of paddles you have.We were in the stucco business and used a large mixer. If any of the sand had rocks in it,they would jam between the paddle and barrel and stop the mixer. Not good.

Snuffy, this thing is just like a cement mixer. I probably need to take them out to keep my rocks from falling on one another. Ya think?

I'm halfway between James and Snuffy on the grit and fill the water to just up to the top layer of rock, and don't like kickers in the barrel. Feel they cause more damage than good.
