google bamboo; invasive species. These are not the type of tree I envision when I imagine a north american forest yet because a lot of NA is temperate, they can and do thrive and choke out our native trees. JMHO

Not a threat here. The native trees and vines cover it up.Kudzu is another story itsandbits. We grow it for fishing poles and bean poles. But if it was invasive here it would not be on my place.

Pretty bamboo, and pretty photos. While in South Carolina and there about, we saw kudzu overtaking everything. We stayed in the car : )

Stayed in the car-too funny.Don't leave the car too long or it will be wrapped in vines. The deer love it,it is in the bean family and very nutritous.Kudzu was introduced as high quality food for cattle. It builds fine soil. After that,it is very destructive and difficult to erradicate.

Love the color of your bamboo, James! There's a nice patch of it, althought not bluish-colored, growing behind our neighbor's home.
